Summary
Bryozoan limestone, a distinctive Danian formation underlying younger geological layers, exhibits unique mechanical properties influenced by its mineralogy and porosity. This study reveals that the similarity in mineral composition between Bryozoan limestone and Cretaceous chalk leads to comparable mechanical responses, despite variations in flint content and other materials. Investigations at Stevns Klint provide critical insights for infrastructure design, such as rock anchors. The research leverages an extensive database of geological data from major projects, including borehole registrations, wireline logging, and advanced laboratory tests, to interpret the mechanical behavior of Bryozoan limestone. This comprehensive approach enhances our understanding of this formation's structural characteristics and its implications for engineering applications.
