Summary
A significant risk to food systems in Copán, Honduras, was identified due to climate hazards, with vulnerability determined by sensitivity, exposure, and adaptive capacity. The study found that these hazards pose substantial threats to livelihoods, resources, and food security dimensions, particularly in 2014. Using an instrumental case study design with embedded units, the research employed semi-structured interviews and focal groups to assess danger levels, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. Key insights include how climate impacts influence resource stability, access, and flexibility, ultimately shaping community risk. This analysis provides critical data for understanding climate-induced vulnerabilities in food systems.
