Summary

Liangzhu society's power and belief system were intricately linked, with jade playing a pivotal role. The study of awl-shaped zhuixingqi objects revealed their significance as symbols of social power and religious faith. The research highlights how the control and use of jade resources were central to the establishment, consolidation, and expansion of Liangzhu's power structure. Spatial changes over time in the Liangzhu site cluster further illustrate this dynamic process. Notably, differences in jade use between male and female elite burials underscore the gendered aspects of power manifestation within this ancient society.
