Summary

A significant portion of the Sundarbans Reserved Forest (SRF) supports the livelihoods of approximately 3.5 million people, contributing to both local and national economies while also providing coastal protection. This study highlights that the socio-economic conditions of these individuals—who engage in diverse activities such as fishing, salt farming, and resource collection—remain below standard due to seasonal labor dependencies. The research employs primary and secondary data sources to analyze livelihood patterns within the Nalian and Burigoalini Ranges, offering insights into the economic vulnerabilities and resilience strategies of Sundarbans-dependent communities.
