Summary

A distinct soil classification emerges for the subalpine belts of the Putorana Plateau, revealing cryometamorphic soils (granuzems) and organic-accumulative soils as dominant in mountain tundra, alongside abrazems. In contrast, lowland forest-tundra areas are characterized by cryoturbated soils (cryozems), primarily developing on sandy loamy glaciolacustrine deposits. This study leverages a substantive-genetic classification framework, integrating morphological and physicochemical data to elucidate the unique soil dynamics shaped by subaerial aeolian processes in these high-altitude ecosystems.
