Summary

A groundbreaking survey of collembola fauna in the Brazilian Atlantic Islands has uncovered 36 new species for the Fernando de Noronha archipelago, including the first records of the genus Calvatomina and subgenus Setogaster in Brazil. The study also proposes a replacement name, Collophora terrabrasilis, for a previously described species to avoid homonymy. This research significantly expands our understanding of the entognathan diversity in this UNESCO-listed marine protected area, highlighting its unique ecological significance.
