Summary
Kazakhstan's deer stones, ancient stelae with engraved images, remain among the least studied monuments in the region. This study compiles a comprehensive dataset of all known deer stones discovered since the mid-19th century, detailing their characteristics and locations. Through analysis of image features, researchers attempt to trace the origin of these stelae, which include anthropomorphic figures and various signs. The research highlights the ongoing discovery of new stelae, often replaced in their original sites, underscoring the importance of thorough documentation for accurate reconstructions. This work contributes significantly to the understanding of Bronze Age cultural expressions in Kazakhstan.
