Summary
A proposed territorial governance model for Santa Rosa de Copán, Honduras, offers a multidisciplinary framework to guide sustainable development around the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Copan. The study identifies five key axes—culture and identity, urban growth planning, transportation, risk management, and environmental sustainability—that, if implemented, could restore ecological balance, boost economic productivity, and foster social equity while integrating local stakeholders. This approach aims to bridge gaps in current territorial planning by embedding cultural preservation and citizen participation into long-term development strategies.
