Rock art sites in Russia, including the Petroglyphs of the Lower Amur and Ussuri (Far East) and Kapova Cave (South Ural), have been advanced as candidates for UNESCO World Heritage status. Research by the Palaeo Art Centre of the Institute of Archaeology, Russian Academy of Science, utilized innovative remote documentation techniques between 2014-2022 to comprehensively study these sites. The findings underscore the significance of these rock art monuments as cultural heritage, emphasizing their potential for global recognition while addressing challenges in data processing and preservation in remote regions.
