From Khirokitia to Mars

A groundbreaking exhibition blurs the line between Earth and Mars by leveraging the social sustainability principles of Khirokitia, a UNESCO-listed Neolithic settlement in Cyprus. The research proposes that collaborative awareness and egalitarian participation—key traits of Khirokitian society—can serve as a model for future Martian communities. By activating spaces in three-dimensional and temporal dimensions, the exhibition explores how human curiosity and persistence, mirrored by modern aspirations to colonize Mars, can foster sustainable social structures. This innovative approach merges archaeology, architecture, and futurism, offering a blueprint for equitable space habitation.
