Summary
This research identifies the emergence of 'Super Hinterlands' as a transformative process in Latin American port cities, driven by territorial restructuring and inclusive urban development. By analyzing ports in Santos (Brazil), Valparaíso (Chile), El Callao (Peru), and Cartagena Bay (Colombia), the study reveals how interactions between local agents, public policies, and planning demands facilitate new regional development strategies. These strategies enable transoceanic and bioceanic connectivity, fostering multiple infrastructure projects that redefine urban and economic landscapes in these seaport cities.
