Summary

A recent study reveals that the Sudanese sector of Comoé National Park, Côte d'Ivoire, hosts 546 plant species, including 20 previously unrecorded in the region. Dominated by Fabaceae (24%), Poaceae (20%), Cyperaceae (17%), and Rubiaceae (11%) families, the vegetation exhibits a high proportion of phanerophytes (52.26%) and significant overlap with Guinean-Congolese and Sudano-Zambézian flora (62.41%). This reflects a distinct physiognomic shift in the park's vegetation, contrasting sharply with its Sub-Sudanese sector. The research employed phytosociological surveys using the Braun-Blanquet method across 210 plots, providing critical insights into this understudied but ecologically rich area.
