Summary
Iguaçu National Park, a significant fragment of Paraná's Inland Atlantic Rainforest, harbors 35 Rubiaceae species across 19 genera. Palicourea and Psychotria dominate with five species each, while Borreria orientalis stands out for its restricted distribution in Brazil, limited to Paraná. The study, conducted through monthly collections from August 2013 to July 2014 and supplemented by sporadic collections until April 2019, reveals distinct species distributions: Foz do Iguaçu and Céu Azul areas host 24 and 22 species respectively, with notable exclusives. Seven species are ubiquitous across both forest formations, while 20 are exclusive to the seasonal semideciduous forest. Manettia tweedieana is identified as endangered, highlighting conservation concerns.
