Summary

Qiaoba-Zhongdu Danxia landforms, located in southwestern Sichuan Province, China, have been identified as being in the mature stage of their evolutionary process. This study reveals that their formation involves a complex interplay of sedimentation, paleo-environmental conditions, tectonic activity, geomorphological agents, and human activities. Researchers employed a multidisciplinary approach, integrating sedimentology, paleo-climatology, tectono-dynamics, and surface process dynamics, alongside advanced techniques such as remote-sensing imagery interpretation, rock and ore identification, geochemical analysis, and seismic profile interpretation. These methods collectively provided a comprehensive understanding of the landforms' development stages and the dynamic factors shaping their unique characteristics.
