Summary

Resettlement for nature-based tourism can generate economic benefits while minimizing psychological impacts on residents, but current relocation policies face substantial criticism. A 2015 survey of residents in China's Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Arearevealed that while participants acknowledged the potential for economic gains from relocation, they overwhelmingly viewed existing policies negatively. The study highlights room for improvement in managing such processes to better balance conservation goals with resident satisfaction and quality of life. Future research should explore how relocation strategies can enhance residents' overall well-being.
