Summary

Glacier Interpretation Centres (GICs) play a pivotal role in diversifying mountain tourism and mitigating the impacts of climate change on glacier destinations. A comparative analysis of three GICs—Espace Glacialis, Glaciorium, and World Nature Forum—reveals that these centres effectively leverage scientific knowledge to promote glacier heritage while adapting to the shrinking glacial landscapes caused by climate change. The study highlights how local stakeholders collaborate to create and manage GICs, which not only enrich tourism experiences but also dynamize local economies. This approach demonstrates a promising strategy for sustaining tourism in vulnerable mountain regions.
