Summary

A new species of long-legged fly, Rhaphium tripartitum, has been discovered on Wrangel Island, expanding the known diversity of Dolichopodidae flies in the region. Additionally, the study excluded Rhaphium nigrum from the Chukchi fauna and extended the distribution range of Dolichopus terminasiana westward to the Yamal Peninsula. The findings are based on surveys conducted between 2015 and 2019 in the Wrangel Island State Nature Reserve, providing critical insights into the biodiversity of this UNESCO-listed site.
