Summary

New research on the late Roman insula in Nea Paphos, Cyprus, reveals unprecedented architectural and functional insights into the House of Aion and the North-Eastern House. This study, based on reanalyzing excavation data from 1982–2008 and fieldwork conducted between 2014–2016, identifies unique features not observed in other buildings from this period, significantly advancing our understanding of Nea Paphos during the late Roman era. Findings highlight the insula's longevity and its role in reflecting social, administrative, and economic transformations, while also contributing to the broader knowledge of residential and public architecture on Cyprus. The study addresses a critical gap in published literature by providing detailed observations of walls, floors, mosaics, paintings, and architectural decorations.
