Summary
A numismatic analysis of 14th-century burials in Saryarka, Kazakhstan, reveals distinct coinage patterns that may indicate different plague dynamics compared to the Volga region. Excavations at Janibek’s mausoleum (first half of the 1360s) uncovered 13 Juchid coins, while Kyzyloba’s mausoleum (second half of the 1330s) yielded four coins attributed to Khan Uzbek. These findings suggest regional variations in coin circulation and plague spread, though further statistical analysis is needed for conclusive insights.
