A comprehensive analysis of Ilha Grande's arboreal flora, part of the UNESCO-listed Paraty and Ilha Grande site, reveals 509 tree species, with 34 categorized as threatened—including two critically endangered. The study, integrating unpublished data and prior research, highlights the island's rich biodiversity within Brazil's Atlantic Forest, while also identifying 53 exotic species. Conducted through phytosociological inventories since 2010 under PPBio Mata Atlântica, this work underscores the critical role of such inventories in guiding conservation strategies for this globally significant ecosystem.
