Tourist support in Llanganuco Lagoon- Huascarán National Park, Perú

Research on the tourist supportability of Llanganuco Lagoon in Huascarán National Park, Peru, reveals that the site can sustain up to 1,969 visitors at a time while maintaining ecological balance. The study, conducted using historical and deductive-inductive methods, combined bibliographic reviews, documentary analysis, and expert criteria to assess resource-use conflicts. Field observations, photographic records, interviews, and questionnaires were employed to gather data. Three capacity levels—Carrying Capacity of Flora (CCF), Carrying Capacity of Resources (CCR), and Ecological Carrying Capacity (CCE)—were determined based on an average visit duration of 1 to 1.40 hours per day. The findings provide critical insights for sustainable tourism management in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
