Summary
A century-old mangrove forest along the Cabayugan River, part of the UNESCO-listed Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSRNP), is being effectively conserved through a community-based ecotourism model known as the Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour (MPBT). This approach leverages sustainable tourism to protect biodiversity while providing economic benefits to local communities in Sabang, Cabayugan, Puerto Princesa City. The study highlights how MPBT integrates environmental education and responsible tourism practices, demonstrating its potential as a scalable strategy for mangrove conservation in similar ecosystems.
