Summary
A comparative analysis of environmental behaviors (EB) in Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Malaysia's model green city, reveals mixed performance relative to other Malaysian states. While half of the measured EB items—such as engagement with surroundings and responsible behavior—show higher means in Melaka, others, particularly those related to energy saving, recycling, and waste handling, lag behind. The study used One-Way MANOVA to assess 10 EB dimensions across Malaysia's states, highlighting that despite Melaka's green city aspirations, eco-behaviors like environmental purchasing remain underdeveloped compared to national averages.
