Summary

Tourist satisfaction with the image of Lijiang Old Town is critical for its sustainable development, according to a study using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). The research identified key areas needing improvement—such as ancient town positioning, public services, and architectural style—to enhance tourist experience. By analyzing 19 demand indicators across five dimensions (MI, BI, AI, EI), the study revealed discrepancies between perceived importance and satisfaction levels. These findings provide actionable strategies for Lijiang to maintain its cultural heritage while meeting evolving tourist expectations, ensuring long-term viability.
