Summary
A significant disconnect exists between architecture and archaeology, despite their inherent relationship, particularly in the context of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This study highlights how existing constraints often hinder collaboration between these fields, limiting the potential for integrated approaches to heritage preservation and presentation. Focusing on the Valle dei Templi di Agrigento—the largest archaeological park in the world—researchers conducted a didactic and investigative project titled 'La Grande Akragas' to explore the role of architectural design in enhancing the understanding and safeguarding of archaeological sites. The findings underscore the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to bridge this gap, offering new perspectives on how architecture can contribute to the interpretation and conservation of cultural heritage.
