Summary
A new understanding of the Kushite enthronement ritual emerges, revealing its role in reinforcing political cohesion within the Dongola-Napata Reach. The study suggests that this ritual differentiated the region from Lower Nubia to the north, with potential implications for the inclusion of sites like Pnubs and Kawa in a coronation circuit. Macadam's 1949 analysis introduced Taharqo's visit to Kawa, highlighting his significant renovations there, comparable only to those at Sanam. The temples' iconographic programs and architectural layouts hint at sequential construction, while post-Twenty-Fifth Dynasty inscriptions emphasize hereditary succession, linking the administration across dynasties.
