Summary

Research in Doñana National Park reveals advanced geopedological processes on its dunes, marked by the presence of dark-colored Arenosoles with clay and iron/manganese enrichments at 60 cm depth. These soils exhibit higher magnetic susceptibility, vermiculite biogenic clays, and incipient luvic and chromic properties, indicating intense pedogenesis—likely driven by Juniperus turbinata savin forest's phytostability. The study employed standard physicochemical and mineralogical characterization methods to analyze soil profile SOJ-2, uncovering patterns of sand washing that suggest differentiation between environmental conditions. This finding challenges the typical aeolian characteristics of Doñana's littoral sheet, offering insights into its complex pedological dynamics.
