Summary

A Triassic tectono-metamorphic event in the Qinling Mountains, characterized by high- and ultra-high-pressure conditions, was strongly influenced by syn- and post-tectonic magmatic activity. This event occurred due to the subduction of the Yangtze craton beneath the amalgamated Qinling-Erlangping-Sino-Korean continent, as indicated by thermobarometry and geochronology. The study also refutes the existence of a Late Palaeozoic Mianlüe ocean and its associated suture, based on new U/Pb zircon ages from mafic rocks. Research utilized petrological investigations, thermodynamic modeling, and geochronological techniques to constrain metamorphic conditions and timing across various tectono-metamorphic units in the Qinling orogen.
