Summary

A strong preference for sustainable development practices emerged as the key finding from a study evaluating tourist support for proposed developments in Komodo National Park. Using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and regression models, researchers analyzed data from 600 tourists to assess discrepancies between visitor expectations and perceptions of current park management. The findings underscored significant concerns about carrying capacity and environmental impacts, highlighting the need for park management to prioritize conservation while enhancing visitor satisfaction. Recommendations included controlled access systems, expanded visitor education programs, and sustainable infrastructure improvements to align development strategies with ecological preservation.
