Summary

Mining landscapes shaped by non-ferrous metal deposits (vein, nest, and heap types) in Central and Eastern Europe from the 12th to 15th centuries exhibit distinct patterns. The study categorizes these landscapes into mining/processing zones, towns, and castles, with examples from Jihlava-Havlíčkův Brod, Kutná Hora (including its UNESCO-listed historical town centre), Olkusz, and Złotoryja. By analyzing the relationship between deposit types and landscape formation, the research reveals how medieval mining activities influenced urban development and spatial organization in these regions.
