Summary
A study identifies the most energy-efficient and economically viable scenario for retrofitting the former Olivetti company canteen, a UNESCO-listed modernist architectural gem in Ivrea. The research combines Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCC) and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) to assess eight technological solutions for energy retrofit while preserving the building's historic integrity. Findings reveal that integrating advanced envelope technologies with economic feasibility analyses can significantly reduce primary energy consumption, enhancing comfort without compromising heritage protection. This approach offers a replicable model for balancing conservation, innovation, and sustainability in modernist industrial sites.
