Summary

Researchers have documented new records and extended the known range of the ringed basket star, Astrodictyum panamense, in the eastern Pacific Ocean. This species, typically found in coral and rocky reefs from the central and southern Gulf of California to oceanic islands, has been recorded for the first time at its northernmost (Adair Bay, Gulf of California) and westernmost (Tortugas Bay, Baja California) locations, as well as Roca Partida Island in the Revillagigedo Archipelago. The findings, derived from fieldwork and online sources, significantly expand the species' distribution map and contribute to our understanding of its habitat preferences and ecological role.
