Summary

Researchers have identified and described a second species of scorpion belonging to the genus Vietbocap within the family Pseudochactidae, marking the first troglobiotic (cave-dwelling) record for this family. The discovery, based on two specimens collected from Thien Duong cave in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Vietnam, represents the fourth known pseudochactid and the second such species found in Vietnam. This finding underscores the region's rich biodiversity and its significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, particularly for its extensive cave systems that harbor unique and previously undocumented species.
