Summary

A rare glimpse into the coronation of Michael Romanov, the first ruler of the Romanov dynasty, is preserved in historical accounts. The study reveals that on July 11, 1613, the young Czar, despite his frail appearance and health, was adorned with imperial regalia during his crowning at Uspenie Cathedral in Moscow's Kremlin. His coronation, marked by the pealing of all cathedral bells, highlighted a moment of significant political transition. The text also provides insight into Michael Romanov’s personal life, including his childlike pride in showing off his 'clock museum' and his request to repair the clock pendulum in the Borovitsky Tower of the Kremlin. This historical narrative offers a nuanced view of early Romanov rule, blending ceremonial grandeur with intimate personal details.
