Heteroptera (Hemiptera) of the Socotra Archipelago I: Introduction, Nepomorpha, Gerromorpha and Leptopodomorpha

A comprehensive review of the true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) in the Socotra Archipelago reveals 19 species, including nine families and two marine offshore species. The study identifies seven new species and multiple new records for the region, such as Micronecta eupompe and Hebrus kanyukovae sp. nov., while also correcting the status of type specimens for several taxa. This research significantly expands the known biodiversity of aquatic, semiaquatic, and shore bugs in Socotra, contributing to the broader understanding of Hemiptera distribution and taxonomy.
