Summary

Research in Komodo National Park reveals that increased accessibility significantly influences tourist behavior, with two distinct typologies—hedonistic adventure tourists and high-risk hedonistic tourists—demonstrating notable ignorant behavior that contributes to environmental damage. The study, involving 534 respondents, employed tourism policy analysis and factor-cluster techniques, identifying three key aspects of accessibility management: destination, individual, and conservation accessibilities. While two other typologies align with traditional nature-based tourist characteristics, the findings underscore the need for targeted conservation awareness strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of ignorant behavior among adventure-seeking visitors.
