Summary

A new amphibian and ten reptile species have been recorded for the first time in Gunung Mulu National Park (GMNP) or its surrounding areas in Borneo, contributing to the park's remarkable herpetofaunal diversity. Among these, Asthenodipsas jamilinaisi and Garthius chaseni represent new state records for Sarawak, while Cyrtodactylus muluensis extends its known range beyond GMNP. The study also documents the first detailed observation of male-male combat in the genus Dopasia buettikoferi, suggesting that two color morphs may belong to the same species based on genetic analysis. With a total of 108 amphibians and 104 reptiles now documented in GMNP, this research underscores the park's biodiversity and highlights the need for ongoing monitoring to better understand its herpetofaunal composition.
