Summary

Nine new species of the fly genus Itaplectops (Diptera: Tachinidae) are described from the Area de Conservación Guanacaste (ACG), northwestern Costa Rica. These species were reared from caterpillars in the families Limacodidae and Dalceridae, with descriptions supported by morphological, photographic, and genetic barcode data. The study also revises the systematic placement of Itaplectops, moving it to the tribe Uramyini, and provides a key for differentiating Itaplectops species and related genera. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of fly biodiversity in ACG.
