Summary
New gypsum-lime based mortars, designed for compatibility with traditional Mudejar materials, show promise for the restoration of Aragon's heritage. These mortars, developed through systematic variation of binder proportions and aggregate types, meet key physicomechanical requirements, ensuring their suitability for conservation efforts. The study provides practical guidelines for selecting optimal mortar mixtures, addressing the deterioration of brick masonry structures—a common challenge in Mudejar monuments.
