Summary
Socotra Island, part of the UNESCO-listed Socotra Archipelago, hosts a unique fauna, including a distinct group of leaf beetles (Eumolpinae) within the family Chrysomelidae. This study identifies and describes 12 species of Eumolpinae from Socotra, with five being newly recorded for the island. The research highlights the high level of endemism in Socotra's insect biodiversity, contributing to our understanding of its ecological significance as a World Heritage Site. The study employs morphological analysis, comparing Socotran specimens with those from mainland Africa and other regions to establish taxonomic identities.
