Summary
Ujung Kulon National Park, located at the western tip of Java Island, harbors 10 large mammal species belonging to 7 families, with most being endemic and protected. The study identified two main groups: ungulate mammals (e.g., Javan rhinoceros, muntjac) and primate mammals (e.g., moluccan gibbon, pig-tailed macaque). Conducted in September 2022 using exploratory descriptive analysis, the research highlights the park's critical role in conserving biodiversity. Hoofed mammals were notably prevalent, underscoring the urgency of protecting this unique ecosystem to maintain its rich faunal diversity.
