Summary

A groundbreaking application of 360° 3D LiDAR technology has enabled the non-intrusive documentation and virtual reconstruction of Rashid Agha's diwakhana within Erbil Citadel. This method circumvents the need for physical intervention, which could otherwise risk damage to these fragile structures. The study demonstrates how LiDAR-derived point clouds can be used to create immersive augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences, facilitating both research and public engagement without compromising archaeological integrity.
