Summary
Ground remote sensing surveys at the Etruscan necropolis of Monte Abatone, Cerveteri, Italy, have successfully identified a network of circular and rectangular features corresponding to buried tomb structures. Using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) with multiple antenna frequencies (400 MHz, 300/800 MHz, and a multichannel stepped frequency system), researchers mapped approximately twelve hectares of unexplored necropolis between 2018 and 2021. The processed GPR data revealed distinct reflections linked to chamber or pit tombs, providing new insights into the spatial organization of this ancient Etruscan site.
