Summary

A comprehensive survey of fish species in the Wuyi Mountains, China, revealed 126 freshwater fish species, with Cypriniformes dominating at nearly 70% and Cyprinidae accounting for over half. Notably, 57% of these species are endemic to China. The study found higher diversity on the east slope and in the northern section of the mountains. Cluster analysis divided reserves into two geographical regions and four river-type regions, providing insights for targeted conservation. Threats to fish biodiversity were also identified, along with potential management solutions.
