Summary

A new cycle of meteor observations at Kazan Federal University (KFU) has revealed significant insights into meteor shower patterns and characteristics. Using the SKiYMET radar, researchers detected a substantial increase in meteor registrations by processing weaker signals with a lower signal-to-noise ratio. The study analyzed seasonal and daily dependencies of meteor activity from 2016 to 2019, as well as the distribution of meteor entry speeds and their variations across seasons and altitudes. Additionally, the research developed a method to determine the coordinates of meteor shower radiants in the equatorial coordinate system, providing precise observations for several prominent showers, including the Geminids, Eta Aquariids, Arietids, April Lyrids, and others. These findings enhance our understanding of meteor behavior and contribute valuable data for astronomical studies.
