Summary
The Pergamon Micro-Region, shaped by tectonic activity forming distinct horst-and-graben structures, exhibits asymmetric geomorphological features between the northern Kozak Mountains and southern Yunt Dağı Mountains. This asymmetry in relief, drainage, and sediment accumulation has created a landscape with wide, flat basins and plateaus, ideal for agriculture and human settlement since at least the Hellenistic-Roman period. The study combines geomorphometric analysis of digital elevation models with satellite image interpretations to reveal how tectonic forces and human activities have co-evolved, leaving lasting imprints on the region's morphodynamics.
