Summary
Libraries have evolved significantly over time, reflecting changes in society, information needs, and architectural techniques. A key insight from this study is the direct relationship between library usage and societal acquisition habits, which influences their spatial design and functionality. The research focuses on four ancient libraries—Ephesus Celsus, Pergamon, Alexandria, and Nineveh—evaluating their architectural structures to understand how they adapted to meet the information demands of their respective eras. Using a documentary screening method, the study analyzed literary sources to assess factors influencing library architecture, providing a comparative analysis of these monumental information centers.
