Summary
A new, detailed map of the water distribution network within the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial has been reconstructed using historical analysis and architectural remnants. This study reveals the intricate system of pipes that supplied water to fountains, tanks, and other devices during the 16th century, providing unprecedented clarity on the monastery's hydraulic infrastructure. The research combined historical source examination with a cataloging of preserved architectural elements, then used ArcGIS Pro software to create an accurate digital representation. This approach offers fresh insights into the engineering prowess and water management strategies of the era.
