Summary
A recent study highlights the importance of diversifying visitor experiences to effectively manage tourism in Brazil's Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park. The research applied the Visitor Opportunity Roll method (ROVUC), recently validated by ICMBio, to identify priority planning actions for the park's Public Use Plan. Through workshops involving park managers and local tour guides, the study found that offering varied activities can enhance visitor experiences while addressing the challenges posed by the park's expanded area and increasing visitation rates. This approach is seen as a key strategy for balancing ecological conservation with sustainable tourism in one of Brazil's most ecologically significant Cerrado regions.
