The Poush Mela in Santiniketan

The Poush Mela, an annual fair held at Santiniketan (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), serves as a dynamic site of social exchange, fostering cultural and intellectual interactions. This study highlights its role in preserving and promoting the heritage of Visva-Bharati, Rabindranath Tagore's institution, by bringing together diverse communities for artistic, literary, and musical performances. The research employs qualitative methods, including historical analysis and ethnographic observations, to explore how the fair facilitates dialogue among participants, reinforcing Santiniketan's legacy as a hub of cultural innovation.
